Forms and opening

When I open forms in a database I use either of two ways, one via the built
in access switchboard and two, by access from another from using a command
button. My problem is that if I open the form using the switchboard i want
the default record viewed to be the last record, and if the same form is
opened using the command button of another form, then i want the form to open
at the record based within a table i have defined already.

is there a way of doing this please?
 
You can pass different values in the OpenArgs argument of the 2 versions of
the OpenForm Method and in the Form being opened, use the OpenArgs value in
the Form_Open Event to navigate differently.
