formatting

Just curious about something...

I use PPT 2000 with Windows XP. Another user runs PPT
2000 on Windows 2000. When I used Insert Slides from
File, my formatting transferred also (i.e. my
backgrounds). When she used this method, she lost her
formatting (backgrounds but not animations--those
transferred). Could the OS make a difference here?

It shouldn't. Are you positive you're both using PPT 2000? It sounds almost
as if you're really using PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP) or 2003, which have multiple
masters features.

Or it could simply be that the template of the presentation you inserted
files into is the same as the file you actually inserted. At any rate,
http://www.echosvoice.com/multipletemplates.htm gives a number of
workarounds for various versions of PPT.
