formatting

A friend of mine was fixing an upgrade problem I had. I orig had ME on my HP. I bought the XP Home upgrade. Had a memory problem, got a new memory. Everything is fine except he loaded HIS XP pro and I not only dont want it, but can not use it...

I need to know how to remove XP PRO reformat my computer and I can figure out how to install. I think...

Please help me.
 
Boot with a Safety boot floppy and reformat the hard drive. Then reinstall
everything.
