formatting

i have a pc with two partitions , C and D.
i want to format the computer (erase EVERYTHING!).
how do i do that and how i install windows afterwards?
 
but how exactly to format?!

If you are using XP, you can boot from the XP cd by going into your bios and
settting your boot sequence to start with your cd-rom. Once that's done,
pop the XP cd in and restart your system and follow the prompts. Same is
true with Win2K I believe. If I'm wrong about Win2K, someone will correct
me. For Win98 & Me you can use a system boot disk to fdisk and format.

As has been described; you can even delete the partitions if you want to and
recreate a single partition (from the two), or create three partitions if
you want.
You could format your partitions from a bootable-floppy with the 'format'
command on it, but thiere should be no need to if you have the XP-CD.
