I'm using standard formatting on a control, so my number
is #,### (no decimals). However, if it's a negative
number it is -#,### ... is there anyway to set the number
to read (#,###)?

See my reply to your previous message regarding -- instead of 0 also.
as Format Property
#,###;(#,###);
