Formatting Windows XP Professional & Blue Screen Error Message

Hi People

Im hoping someone will be able to assist. I down loaded a photo suite on my
Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop and immediatley after the download completed i got
a blue screen with error message. ( Aproblem has been detected and windows
has been shut down to prevent damage. Kernel_data_inpage_error & Technical
information Stop:0x0000007aA, oXC0384FEO, OXC000009C, OXE13F8000, OXOB958880)

Windows wouldnt load back on so i am trying to format windows i am able to
get to the stage where it starts to format and im using the full scan but it
gets stuck on 5 % can anyone assist in helping me sort this problem out.

Thanks for that but i need help in formatting windows xp as i have already
started the process of formatting but its stuck at 5%

Either the hard drive is bad or the settings in the bios are incorrect.
Or, you simply may have to wipe the drive with zeros using one of the
many free utils out there to bring your drive back to factory specs. If
a zero fill also locks up, then most likely the HDD is bad.

which boot disk from mthe link you sent do i need to down load to wipe the
drive with factory spec?

Hi Saeed,
First check your HDD is okay, RAM, Controllers, Connectors from the Mobo to
the HDD and Vice versa, there are no attached devices to the case during the
set up like Modem/router, Printer, external HDD and so on...

f you have added a large HDD, this could be the problem, also you need to
change the Data/Ribbon Cable from 40 wires to 80 wires or from ATA66/ATA133

BIOS manufacturers should not clear the IDE Decode Enable bit in the _STM

Check the Health of the HDD by running the Diagnostic Tools from the HDD
manufacturer website and test your HDD.

Get the one available at your hard drive's Manufacturer's web site.
