Do you have all three Access 2000 and Jet 4.0 Service Packs installed? Last
time I heard, that was 3 Service Packs for Access 2000 and 8 Service Packs
for Jet 4.0. That was a release that had a lot of "issues", and for that
reason (1) it's a good idea to be sure you have all Service Packs and
patches, and (2) many people moved on to later versions because, even from
the start, the later versions had fewer "issues".
I haven't encountered any problem such as you describe, however, even before
applying Service Packs to Access 2000. I'm inclined to think it is
attributable to some system DLL that is used, or that there is some problem
in the Report, Subreport, or associated Queries or Code. But, the fact that
it just hangs is going to make it difficult to debug. My first step, after
making sure Access/Jet 4.0 are up-to-date, would be to run separately the
Report that is embedded in the Subreport Control.
