formatting individual text

I have a form set up much like the Northwinds invoice form with a subform
linked dispayed and modified in table view to a main form. What I have been
asked to do is to set up the form so that individual words can be
highlight/bolded/etc. Is there a way to design the text fields in the subform
(or any text field for that matter) so that the text being entered can be
modified in this way? If not, is there a way at least to highlight/bold/etc
an individual row in the subform?

Not in a standard textbox or table field, unfortunately. The only way
to get such customized formatting is by using a "Rich Text Format"
control, which ends up storing a whole bunch of formatting characters
in your field (along with the actual text); this takes up space and
can make searching or sorting the field a real problem.
