Formatting Header and footer numbers

I am reformatting student manuals. The manuals have
separate Modules, ie. Module A Mod B and so on. Once
formatted they are stored in a main folder separate from
one module to the next.
I started with Module a and inserted a header with the
Name of the Company and the subject, in the footer I wish
to put at the bottom right the Module ie A-1, meaning A
for the module and page one. This used to work
sequentially once I put in the number 1 for designating
that this was page one, when scrolling down (sometimes up
to 90 pages, each page was a different number and the A
stayed as it was) this was the correct thing. On Mod B I
cut and pasted the footers from Mod A and just changed the
number at the bottom of the page, however all pages stayed
at B-1 and the numbers did not go continuously as before.
Does anyone have any ideas regarding this. Many thanks.

Although you don't actually say so, I assume that you're
talking about Microsoft Word, which has nothing to do with
Windows 2000. I recommend you repost in an MS Office
newsgroup.
