I have made the neccessary back-ups and
now want to format my C drive.
Any assistance would be appreciated
thanks ?

ok are you installing XP? if so set your bios to boot
from cd-rom first with the xp cd in the drive, let it do
it's thing.....then when done it will ask if you want to
install or repair select install.
then it will show your c drive and a partition maybe 2
anyways select the partition(biggest one) and press D to
delete the partition, you don't have to create a
partition but i recomend you do more than likely for the
max amount(default) then format it NTFS Full (not Quick)
then let it do it's thing it will format the drive then
it should start installing after restart-when it reboots
go ahead and move the CD-ROM back to where it was in the
boot list (BIOS) and it will boot from the hard drive and
proceed with the installation.
Hope that helps Cliff
