Formatting for vlookup

I have a list of radio stations in column A in my
destination sheet. (KBXR,KOTZ,WFUV, etc.)

I import numbers weekly that correlate to each station.
In order to do the vlookup, the lookup column(from
destination sheet) must match the reference column (on
the import sheet) exactly (KBXR on destination sheet, and
KBXR on lookup sheet). However, the info that I import
has the stations listed as KBXR-FM (in the same cell). I
don't want to have to change all of the stations on my
destination sheet to have the "-FM" on the end just so
the vlookup will match. Is there some way to format the
cells of column A (the stations) so that the
-FM is automatically eliminated or a way to exclude the
"-FM" from the vlookup?
