Please help me! I use a 3 1/2 inch floppy to save all my writing work
on.
today I went to access the disk and I was informed that it needed to b
formatted, but the disk is already formatted. If I format it I know
will lose all of my work (no, I sadly don't have backup copies). I
there anyway to get around this obsticle

Unfortunately, floppies and XP don't get along very well. Floppies have
imperfections and go bad easily. Also, floppies created on a 9x system
often have this problem when trying to use them in XP.

If you have a CD-Writer and know someone who has Windows 98 or Windows ME
installed, take the floppy to them copy the files to their hard drive. If
they have a CD-Writer, copy the files to CD. NOTE: depending upon how this
is done, for example if you drag and drop the files to CD, you will need to
have the same CD Writing software installed on your setup as that which is
installed on the setup that created the CD but this should once again give
you access to those files.
