Formatting evelopes

This is actually a question that concerns both Word and Outlook - Office 2003

I use Outlook for contacts but not as my email program - nor do I want to

I tried formatting an envelope using the address book but was told that to do so would require me setting Outlook as my default email client. Why I don't know

Is there a setting I can adjust so I can just use the contacts to format envelopes and labels

Also, is there any way I can access a help menu without going online. Most of the time this is no problem but occasionally I don't have internet access

Thank

E

Hi =?Utf-8?B?RWQ=?=,

I'm not knowledgeable enough about the limitations of the address book stuff to be able to answer the first question.

You should be able to initiate the facility you require from Outlook
Contacts > tools > mailmerge.
The address book function in Word works off the back of the e-mail function
hence it requires Outlook as the default e-mail application. You may be able
to call the addresses from Outlook directly by macro - see

Thanks for the responses.

I set Outlook as the default email client and I still get the same message - that Outlook needs to be the default email client for Word to use the address book.

Is there a setting I'm overlooking?

Any further help is appreciated.

Check the setting in Windows > control panel > internet options > programs.
If it is set there already, then I am baffled.
