I want to clear my computer of all the clutter. so if I got to my computer and click on drive c and then format drive c. what will I need to do after that.

Will I just need my windows xp disc, to get it up and running normal without all the clutter

Many Thanks

You will lose absolutely everything you have stored on Drive C - all software programs, games, music, photos, e-mail - everything.

You will also need drivers for the motherboard, sound, video, network and need to install all Windows updates.

You will need to reactivate Windows.

If you're confident you have everything you need to get your system running how it is now (sans clutter) then go ahead.

What, exactly, is this 'clutter' just by way of interest.

You could try using a program like CCleaner to get rid of lots of un-needed stuff and then physically delete things yourself you don't need anymore.

Win XP will not allow you to do that, fortunately. ;)

Yes, you will need the original CD to "reformat" your drive & install the OS.

I agree with Floppy, you WILL loose everything, better to try "decrapifying" your PC first. Master Google will lead you to the Decrapifying program.

You can,t format a harddrive that way.

Windows xp will not let you since your using it already.

Do not format your pc if your just removing clutter files.

there are alot of free tools which can do this for you.

Registry Clean Expert is one(find it on google.com)
or try download.com and look for harddrive cleaners.
