Can anyone tell me how to format a blank CDR disc so that
I can record music on it? Thanks

You can't !

You can format a CD-RW as it is re-writable.

For CD-R's, its a question of out of the box, into the burner and away you
go.

If you need anything else, re-post.

you should not have to format a blank cd-r, you only have
the format a cd-rw and you can "bake" music onto it. the
first cd i made was on a cd-r and there was no formating
what so ever on it and iv never had to format a cd-r and
iv been writing disks for about a year now.
