If it is a negative number and I want to format it into
currency, how do I get brackets around the number instead
of a negative sign in front (it is a formula)

Hi!

One way:

Start > Settings > Control Panal > Regional Options > Currency Tab
Change the default for negative currency format

Hi

What Norman has suggested will do the trick - and it will also set the
default for all Windows applications. If you just want to set this for
Excel, try Format / Cells and setting the category to Number, and you will
see what you want in the list.

Andy.
