formatting c: with XP.

Hello, can anyone give me an idea on how to format c: drive with XP Pro as the operating system. Thanks and have a great holiday, David..

Set the boot options in the BIOS to look for bootable devices in the
following order:

FDD, CD, HDD (floppy, CD, hard drive)...

Put the XP CD in the drive and restart the PC.

When the message appears on the screen... Press a key to boot from CD...

press a key... any old key... spacebar if you want.

Ignore the F2 for the Recovery Console. Go through the F8 to accept the
EULA.

It will look for and presumably find Windows on the drive.... tell it to
delete the partition and then create a new one and format it.

Remember that ALL DATA on the hard drive will be lost. Backup anything you
want to keep to a CD or other hard drive.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
