formatting c drive

me and my little girl have our computer really messed up...I would like to start over and refomat the c drive and install windows xp all over again...I am lost...what do I do...???

I have the windows xp disk and the original disk for windows 98 as well as some other disks that came with the computer (Dell)...I am not worried about losing anything except our high spped cable connection...

this shows how to install XP from scratch...formatting the HD in the
process.
Everything will need to be reinstalled.
Write down your Cable settings or phone you Cable co. for a setup walk
through after the installation of XP

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
