Formatting and Fonts in E-Mail

How can I control fonts and formatting when composing e-mail in OL 2003? (I
have been using earlier versions of OL for some years and as I recall I had
the same problem) I have OL set to use html for e-mail with Word as the
editor. The font (Tools, Options, Mail Format, Fonts) is Arila 10 pt. My
Signatures are also in Arial 10 pt, except for some fine print). Generally
I can compose a simple e-mail with a signature and there is no problem.
However, if I scroll down beneath the last line of composed text and press
<Enter> to create a new line the font at that point is now Times Roman 12!
Where the %#d^9#! does that come from? There is a little window for Styles
and when I open it I see the styles from Normal.dot in Word. Is that where
it comes from? What's that stuff doing here? If I use Word as the editor,
am I stuck with my Normal.dot? My normal.dot is just the way I want it--for
Word documents, not e-mail! I would like my e-mails to use a single font,
without my having to do anything special with each message. Is this
possible? If I have to use a template from Word, can I make one? How do I
make OL use it? Will my Signatures work with it? (Could this be the
explanatioin for a few e-mails I get that look like they were hit by a font
hand grenade?) Thanks!

I may have figured it out already. I created a new template in Word with a
few desired styles/fonts. They I saved it as an html document in the
Stationery folder, then chose it in OL. Seems to work along with my
previously-created Signatures.
