This might help someone. This week, no matter what Word document I opened,
absolutely all formatting was gone, hyperlinks were labeled as hyperlinks, but
in plain text, no underlining, etc., and it was as though all formatting (text)
(paragraph) (hyperlinks) (margins) was reduced to plain text, even worse than in
Notepad.
I just spent the last two hours going through all the menus, options -
everything and finally noticed the problem.
A week ago I needed to open a difficult file as "Recover text from any file."
Apparently, the File Of Type box did not change from that, back to where it
usually is, "Files of Type: All Word Documents."
Once I returned the Files of Type box to its default "All Word Documents" I can
now open my formatted documents and once again, they look grand!
