Formatting A Drive

On my Win XP Pro desktop, I plan to install a new 80GB drive...and
use Acronis to restore the drive image of the old drive onto the
new drive. What's the best way to format the new drive before putting
the drive image on it?

You don't. Imaging program restorations do all the partitioning and
formatting. Don't make a mess.
