Formatting a contact card

When using outlook 2003, everytime I open a particular contact, the card is so minimized, I can't read anything. I can expand it any way I want, and as long as Outlook is opened, every time I open a separate contact, it will remain at the size I have chosen, HOWEVER, when I shut outlook down, and restart it, again my individual contact window is tiny. Also if it is any help. When I go to the VIEW menu in an individual contact The first option "current view" is dimmed. I'm getting frustrated having to resize these each time I open a new contact when I re-open outlook. Any ideas?

Odd. Never seen anything like it. Is this just one Contact or all? If you
recreate the Contact anew, does the problem go away?

It happens with ANY contact, it's fine as long as I don't shut down outlook, but when I do shut down outlook the next time I open it, it's back to a small contact. I also just realized that it is the same with my tools bars. If I customize the buttons on the tool bars, it does remember that, however if I resize toolbars (doesn't matter WHICH section, ie mail, or tasks, or journal) or place two tool bars on one line, it won't remember that either. I have tried the repair function many times with no luck. Any help you can give me I would certainly appreciate.

Thanks.

Try starting Outlook with the cleanviews switch. Search Help for command
line switches if you don't know how.

You can fix this by editing the registry (make a backup first). Find the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Contact key and delete the Frame value. Outlook will reset itself to a default size.

Thanks to both Russ and Sue - HOWEVER - - neither of your suggestion made any differenc, again, it WILL remember different positioning and sizing until such time as I close down Outlook, then it reverts back to the original. I tried everyrthing you both mentioned, and a couple of other switches in the command line. No luck. I also uninstalled Outlook, and re-installed outlook, no luck there either. Same Thing. Is there any way that I can clean out the registry and start from Scratch? I'd be willing to do that if it will solve the problem

THANK

Yeah, mine rebounded, too. If we knew what caused this in the first place, there might be a solution, but for now, my best recommendation is to restart Outlook as seldom as possible and before you do, zap that Frame value again.
