Reading between the lines, I'm guessing that you're typing text into Family
Tree Maker and pasting it into Word. When you do this, there is no telling
what style is applied to it in Word (probably Normal), but unless you've
modified that style to have an indent, the pasted text will not be indented.
I would not advise applying any sort of indent to Normal style. Instead,
customize another style (I would suggest Body Text) to have the formatting
you want, then apply that style to the pasted text. If you need help with
either of these operations, see these articles:
How to apply a style in Word

If, on the other hand, you're typing text into Word and then pasting it into
Family Tree Maker, I can't help you; you'll need to learn more about what
formatting options that program has to offer.
