Format

When I boot my computer, it usually scans the disk and
tells me that there are 175 bad sectors in my disk. I
want to format my hard disk. If I do, can I still use and
activate my Windows Professional XP Software which I
purchased sometime last March 2002?

Yes you can - but yuou may want to try running chkdsk
first to try and repair
