not sure if this is correct group, but is my question...
just formated a 160gb wd hard drive with xp home using
ntfs when i was done there was 131386gb (approximetly),
why? bios was updated and read 160gb. why do you lose so
much space? i have noted with larger drives more seems
to go by the way of the dodo bird... gone

thx

Hi Pacer,
There is actually a 132gb limit that is recognizable.
You would actually have to choose to partition into 2
drives. I recently ran into this dilemma myself. : )
Hope this helps.

i did partitioned it into 2 drives but one was 80gb and
the second was still only 51gb
thx
