What's the difference betweeen formatting the hard drive using NTFS Quick
format and NTFS format? (What's the difference between quick or full?) The
full takes like 40 minutes or so, but quick does it in a few seconds.

Verification of data structures (sectors) rather than assuming the partition table is good

Pretty much the same thing as previous versions of windows. ie a quick
format simply wipes the data, more or less, and a full format checks the
entire hard drive for bad areas. That's why it takes so much longer.
