Hi to everyone. I would like to know if someone can help me. I have a
Toshiba Satellite A20. Unfortunately when I try to open computer it comes up
Isass.exe and services.exe and then just goes to blank screen. I am using
windows xp home edition, and also have 3 recovery cd-rom's. I have tried to
see if they will work but they will not open.
Can anyone help me to re-format the computer in good old plain english that
would not be too hard for me to understand. Luckily I have a copy of my data
etc.
Many Thanks

Have you checked the manual you got with your computer.
It should tell you how to use the recovery cd-roms.

But if you are like most users, you don't read the manual until all else fails,
So I will guess at how it works.
Start the computer so that you have power on the CD drive.
Put disk number 1 in the drive.
Then turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and it should now read the CD drive**
Follow the on screen instructions.

** If it does not read the CD drive you may have to enter the System Setting to change the "Boot
Order".
I don't have a Toshiba, so I can't give you the key to entering the System Setting, but most new
computers are pre-set to this option.

You should own a recovery cd that when booted to, will give you the option to
restore to 'factory defaults'. Put in the CD, boot, follow the prompts.

No matter what I try it still will not work.

press and hold
down the f12 key
as you press the
on button.

can you provide
what options you
get, if any?
