I've had trouble getting to a postition where i can
format my harddrive in windows xp pro. Before with other
windows, i could boot to the command prompt and do what i
need to do, but now, im kind of stuck. I want to format
a partition, and have windows installed on the other.

can anyone offer me some suggestions?

thanks,
ben

Right-click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE.
Click on DISK MANAGEMENT and in the lower right-hand
window, right-click on your non-XP partition and select FORMAT.

You can format partitions other than the one where the system is and the
initial boot one (if different - usually both are C:) at Control Panel -
Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk Management and look lower
right for the graphic of the drive. R-click in a partition and Format
is an option
