Format doesn't delete Windows 2K

I have two hard drives setup and both had Win2K installed
on them. I wanted to make the bigger one the slave so I
tried to format the drive, however it still asks me which
drive I want to boot to when I startup. This is very
confusing. Why hasn't the OS been taken off with the
format?

To remove the unwanted start option, edit the hidden system file
C:\boot.ini.

To access boot.ini, open a command prompt and change directory to C:\, then
type "attrib -r -h -s boot.ini". The file should now be visible.

Remove the line that refers to your unwanted installation.

To be safe, before you edit boot.ini, format a floppy from within Win2000,
and copy the files boot.ini, ntdetect.com and ntldr to it. This floppy is
bootable, and will load Win2000 from your hard disk in case your boot.ini -
or any other needed boot file - is missing or corrupt.

Best regards

Bjorn

Just edit the BOOT.INI. Remove the two references to the deleted O/S.
Because you just formated to remove the one system what utlitily do you
think would have edited the boot up sequence for you?
