Hi,

I have a computer at home having Windows XP Professional
installed on it. Since It had some problems, I installed
windows to my D Drive. I am not that expert on this thing.
Then I heard that my OS should be on C drive not on D
Drive. So I installed successfully OS on to my C drive.

Now the problem is that my both C and D drive have the
same copy os OS on both drives. So I tried to format D
drive using format option in windows and also on DOS. It
did not work. I need someone's help in getting my D drive
formatted without loosing data from C drive.

Your help is highly appreciated,
Thanks to all in advance

I dislike having Windows on my C: drive. Windows has never needed to be on C
(although it always needs C: in order to boot up). What was the reason given
for not having it on C:?

I like having it on two drives, as it makes it more likely for me to be able to
boot up after a disaster and recovering stuff - especially if neither of those
are C:.
