I just got a deal on a used computer from a garage sale.
It has windows 2000 installed on it. I want to start
over. I have my xp disc. Is there anyway to format c:
in windows 2000. I don't have a 2000 disc to use for it.

Boot off of the XP disk, and when you get to the select which drive you want
to install on, highlight the 2000 partition and press "d"

Only reply by newsgroup. If I see an email I didn't ask for, it will be
deleted without reading.

Your XP disk should be bootable. Just boot from the CD and use the XP
setup. There will be an option toward the beginning of the setup that
allows you to format.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
