Form won't submit

The [FrontPage Save Results Component] at the top of the page indicates
there are no FP server extensions installed on the host server. My tests
also indicate you do *not* have extensions.

How to check and see if FP Server Extensions are installed on the host
server:
http://www.dnswiz.com/fptype.htm

or, type in your website root URL with /_vti_inf.html ex:
http://www.mysitename.com/_vti_inf.html and you will see whether your site
has them installed and enabled.

I contacted my hosting provider and they insisted that FPSE are installed.
They said that they do not support FPSE for the FP 2003...this is why the
form won't work. But I am not buying this as, on that form I have used the
new feature in 2003 that lets you create pop-up windows. They work just fine.
Should I ask them to re-set FPSE anyways?

1. There are no FP2003 extensions, only the FP2000 or FP2002 extensions.

2. FP2003 used the same form features that are supported by both FP2000 and FP2002 extensions.

Did you create the form directly on the live/remote site or did you create the form locally and then
used File Menu | Publish Site to get the form on the live/remote server?

The forms bot in FP2003 is the same as previous versions, and requires
either the FP 2000 or FP 2002 extensions. There are no extensions
specifically for FP 2003.

If you are using forms to email, have you asked the host to enable to forms
to email transport in the extensions?

Yes, I created it directly from the web folder/site folder that I published
from.
Then used FP to publish it.

Yes, I am publishing to email, but in one of my many previous attempts this
morning, I did try sending the results o a text file. Still same problem.
Nothing happens when you hit submit.
No error. Nothing.

I will contact my web hosting provider again and let them know that there
should be no problem with using the form even though its FP 2003.

Open the form on the live/remote server in FP, remove the email address and then test by sending to
a plain text file. If that works, then the problem is with the host not having configuring the
extensions to process email.

Also only a single email address is supported by the FP Form Handle.

Remove the "Print Your Form First Button and code" and then see if the form works.

If not then try moving the form (from within FP) to the same location as the current working form.

Thanks!

:

Open the form on the live/remote server in FP, remove the email address and then test by
sending
to
a plain text file. If that works, then the problem is with the host not having configuring
the
extensions to process email.

Also only a single email address is supported by the FP Form Handle.

:

The forms bot in FP2003 is the same as previous versions, and requires
either the FP 2000 or FP 2002 extensions. There are no extensions
specifically for FP 2003.

If you are using forms to email, have you asked the host to enable to forms
to email transport in the extensions?

You are attempting to save to a file in the same folder (u-file="registered.txt")
- move it to _private folder which has write permissions and change the FP form properties to point to at that location
Check w/ your host that they allow emails to be send to an email address outside of the server

publishing it each time I added a new field.

HMMM. I am not at that computer, but i think i do have the results going to
two different email address!
Actually, I know I do...I won't be able to test your suggestion till I
return home after 5PM Eastern, though.
I will let you know!
Thanks!

:

Open the form on the live/remote server in FP, remove the email address and then test by
sending
to
a plain text file. If that works, then the problem is with the host not having configuring
the
extensions to process email.

Also only a single email address is supported by the FP Form Handle.

:

The forms bot in FP2003 is the same as previous versions, and requires
either the FP 2000 or FP 2002 extensions. There are no extensions
specifically for FP 2003.

If you are using forms to email, have you asked the host to enable to forms
to email transport in the extensions?

Finally!
I had the energy to re-create the form...again..stpe by stpe, testing and
publishing it each time I added a new field.
End result, it now works. I even added the confirmation pahe with field
results so the user can print out their completed form.

You need to move the closing </form> tag to be after the submit button.
