Form that'll merge several users' absences in a single all-day eve

We have an Exchange Server with a public calendar. All colleagues enter their
absences a separate all-day events with different start- and end times.
During holiday periods, you can't see the rest of the calendar from all the
different all-day events.
Question: is it possible to enter overlapping absences of different length
and to have Outlook automatically figure out and display the absences of each
day in one single all-day event?
