Hi, one of the problems that I find right now with web development for people
who do not have a spare server sitting around is that we can't test front
page controls or other things. And since we may be updating a currently live
website if we accidentally upload a faulty contact form we could have some
major issues.

I was thinking about that but I am thinking about a brain dead solution like
preview in browser which is already in there but not with frontpage
extensions.

Preview in browser works fine on Windows XP Pro / IIS when the site is open via http in FP

I know but it does not let you test how a form page will work, the email
being sent will work, how the confirm page will appear, ect...

Works for me.
SMTP service is installed, and extensions set up to use it - in fact,
extensions can be set to use any SMTP server, such as the user's ISP.
On my set up the SMTP service uses my domain name as an alias, the sent
emails are processed but stay in the SMTP service drop folder.
