Form question: Simplest way to bring in a query result that is notthe record source into a form?

I have a query that produces one value only ever in one field. I want to display this value from this query in a form, but the query is not the record source. What's the simplest way to do this?

To be clearer, my query has one field and only ever one record. The value of that record can change though, hence my desire to show it on the form.

Set the Control Source of a textbox on the form to

=DLookUp("[Fieldname]", "[queryname]")

I actually tried that and no matter what I did to massage the dlookup the value did not appear in the box when I opened the form. I will get some more specifics tomorrow at work.
