Forgive me if I don't use the right terms or explain this very well. I'm
trying to learn how Windows handles printing froms (contracts). We have to
print contracts for banks on preprinted forms. We having aligment issues and
I've been talking to our developer and he was telling me that printing is
handled by Windows / Printer Drivers and that the page of data is rendered
in Windows before it's sent to the printer driver.

The problem is if we get the data to print on a contract correctly via an
Epson then when we try to print to a Panasonic it don't align. I'm not sure
what we need to do?? Any suggestions?

Yes, that's going to be a problem. Each printer has its own metrics (left
and right edge, top and bottom non-printable zones).

One solution is to convert the contracts into PDF documents, then add user-
editable fields to where the blank spaces are. I've done that for several
employment applications.

The initial effort may take two or three hours, but once you have the PDF,
*everything* is locked in place.
