Excel 2007

I have an Excel document that I like to keep for accounts, usernames,
passwords, etc. For some time everything worked fine. Recently more secure
passwords are required, using letters, numbers and special characters.
Excel doesn't like this and wants to forumlate my column, consequently I
can't change the password.

I've tried selecting all the cells/rows ... and then format as 'general' ...
nothing seems to help.

Your help will be appreciated.

I'm not sure what the special characters are, but try pre-formatting the range
as Text first.

Or start your entry with an apostrophe.
