Greetings,

We have an Intranet server setup that we use to share forms, among
other things. I've set the following IE settings:

History=0
Empty Temporary Internt Files when browser is closed=enabled

The problem is that a week later, users will sometimes still get the
old forms (which we have a couple that are updated weekly).

Thanks,
Chris

Why not fix the forms and make them non-cacheable?

My guess is that your second option, "Empty TIF..." isn't working.
Others have reported that symptom before.

When the problem happens can they recover using F5 or Ctrl-F5?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Robert,

I would say you have hit it right on the head. What we have had to do
at times is to Manually go in and delete the TIF. Everything is fine
then. How would we make the forms non-cacheable?

This would be off-topic for this newsgroup and not something that
I am very knowledgeable about anyway. I would try a web developer
newsgroup. E.g. use the MSDN Newsgroups menu to find one.

FWIW here is a link I posted about recently which may give you more
background.

Here's a document which may help clarify your understanding of the
caching mechanism.

Note: unfortunately the menu has changed since the document
was written and thus MSDN's Sync Toc feature does not find it.
I.e., notice that a new menu level "Technical Articles and Columns"
has been inserted where the breadcrumb links are broken at the top.
