Hi

I am after information on contact forms produced in FP.

In the email response option when a valid email address is
entered is this address available to spammers - ie can they
harvest this address ? You can see the address in the source
code on the displayed page but it is not "on" the page
itself ?

thanks

Geoff

Harvesters can take it from the source code, yes.

While the can harvest it, it would be unlikely that they would do so. To do
so would require that the walk all the text on the page looking for the only
tell-tale sign the @ symbol. From there they would have to search back the
start of the email address looking for what a space character, a period, or
a double quote? Next they would have to search forward from the @ symbol
looking for what?

Unless the harvesting engine is specifically looking for the webbot
parameter code, unlikely, then the address will more that likely not be
harvested.

Email harvesting robots have no problem grabbing any email address that is
stored on a page or in a FP webbot tag in the standard email format of
(e-mail address removed) that can be viewed via the browser source view.
