Form Design

I am a novice who has designed a word form for work colleagues tha
allows them to distribute a form that contains both text fields an
drop down fields.

All in all the form has been very well received, however I have bee
made aware of the following problems;

1. Users have to toggle the 'protect form' icon button to allow them t
alter between 'text' and 'drop down' fields. i.e. My form doesnt allo
a user to alter both text and drop down fields at the same time!

2. When they toggle the 'protect form' button after both text and dro
down fields has been changed, the text disappears and the drop down
clear to their default value!!!!

How do I alter the form so that this doesnt happen??

Tim,

Isolate the free text portions from protected form field portions using
continous section breaks in the document. You will then use Tools>Protect
Document to protect only those sections containing form fields.
