You know when you start typing in the Web Address bar or in a form field
Internet Explorer will provide you with a list of "suggestions" to pick
from.

How do you edit/modify/delete this list?

Hi Paunins :-)

Sounds as if you are talking about the Autocomplete function. You don't
mention which version of Windows you are using, so I'll take a few guesses.
Try the following and see if it helps:

To edit auto-complete:

You can right click on the entries and delete them. As far as I know, there
is no other way to Edit the Auto-Complete list. Perhaps someone else here
will have more information for both of us on that.

Look in this list here for information on how to deal with the Auto-Complete

With no programs open,
Run REGEDIT and make your way to this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW]
Export that key (Registry> Export.) If you wish to undo the change,
double clicking on that REG file will restore the original registry key.
Then delete the SPW key.
Restart the computer.

I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106CO and Windows 2000 Professional
5.00.2195 Service Pack 4.

I tried "right clicking" on the auto-complete list entry and no menu was
presented so I couldn't delete the entry that way.

I found the lists of "Typed URLs" in the windows registry under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
as per your link. This list however, does not contain the list of items
typed into forms.

There is a "Clear Forms" button under "Internet
Options:Content:AutoComplete" which
does clear the entries for all the forms.

Would be nice to be able to edit the list, but hey - I got the answer I
needed.

Thanks!

Tim

You're very welcome! Glad to hear you were able to resolve your problem.
Good job!

Yes..I do agree it would be a very nice to be able to edit this list in an
easier manner, hopefully, one day it will be added. However, I don't think I
will hold my breath on that one. :-)

Thank you for posting back and letting us know what worked for you, and for
the benefit of other readers who might have a similar problem. :-)
