I have forgotten a password for windows xp home. When i start the computer,
the F8 key doesnt work when i press it so i cant go into safe mode. The
login screen then appears and i am not able to go on to the guest account or
any other account as i have forgotten my password. Is there any way i can
reconver my password or log on in another way?

i would say right click My Computer then select manage then user accounts
highlight the one you need to change the password for then right click it
select set paswords then follow instructions. might work

Do you have an F-lock keyboard? If so, toggle the F-lock off and you
will be able to use F8 to get into Safe Mode. Or use a different, plain
vanilla keyboard.

Otherwise, boot with NTpasswd and change the Administrator password to a
blank.
