Forgotten password...

I am trying to figure out a way to access the passwords stored on my
computer.

I've had a Mindspring (now Earthlink) account for just over 6 years. I've
accessed it with OE all that time and the password was "remembered". My
young daughter was fooling around with the computer recently and typed into
the logon password field and changed it.

Not having a clue what I might have set it as over 6 years ago, I called
mindspring to get the password reset. They asked for my password in order
to confirm who I was which obviously I didn't have. Then they asked for a 4
digit PIN that they gave me when I signed up for the account. Not a clue.
They said that the hint was birthday so I tried all combinations of my, my
wife's, and each of my two daughter' birthdays. Nothing.

Then I asked if I could close the account and they said sure, just give them
either the password or PIN so they could confirm that I owned the account.
Then I called the billing folks. They closed the account without asking for
anything other than the billing account number.

Then I called to open a new account. I asked if I could use my old
mindspring address. They said sure, just give them the password or PIN and
they would reactivate that account. I explained the situation and said that
I didn't want to reactivate the old account. I wanted a new account and I
wanted to use my old e-mail address. They said that user ids cannot be
reassigned, even after the account has been closed.

I understand and appreciate their commitment to securing my account and
related information. However, this is the mobius loop from hell.

Does anyone know if there any way that I can access the passwords that I
have stored on my computer?

Outlook Express Password Revealer is a program that helps the user to display
server names, user logins and passwords for all the e-mail and newsgroups accounts
stored by Outlook Express as well as identity passwords.
