Forgotten password

I am locked out of a PC that I haven't used for a while
and it is running XP. When I power it up, the log on
screen appears with only one user name for which I can
not remember the password. I can, however, remember the
password for Administrator, but I can not figure out how
to change the user to Administrator so that I can log
on. I have left or right-clicked every one of the few
words and icons on the screen but can not change the user
name. My question is: how do I log on as Administrator,
or, if I am unable to do so, how can I just get into my
PC so that I can re-install my programs and operating
system and start fresh?
