At my work a user that was computer illeterate did
something to our access database, error says not a valid
password. is there any way to bypass it and change it

Depends how this password has been implemented...but try holding down shift
as you open it, this will stop the startup forms/code running.

I hope this is not what occurred, but if a curious user tried to open the
mdb in Microsoft Word (just to be curious about what may be inside) the
database will change based upon how Word autosaves. When this happens,
Access thinks a password has been applied to the database. In fact, it is
corrupted beyond repair. To my knowledge there is no possible recovery from
this.
