forgot password for personal computer

This is a personal computer. I don't have any
administrator retrictions. My son was changing the
password on the computer at home and forgot it after
chaning the password.
My question is how do I get pass the part of the coputer
asking for a password. so I may enter the control panel
and change it. The computer is a HP pavilion 6636, the
operating system is windows 2000.
