forcing remote desktop through another port

ive got remote desktop working ok through a LAN but when i
try to use it through the internet it does not work.

This is mainly because i think that port 3389 on my works
network firewall is disabled. Is there anyway that remote
desktop can run through a common port such as port 80 or
is there a way to force it to run through another port of
my choice?

Yes, look at these KB articles for help. Note that you need to reboot the PC after making the
registry change...
