Forcing a complete replication of Active Directory.

Can anyone tell me how to force a complete replication of
active directory?

I'm soon going to be upgrading Exchange 5.5 to 2000 and
normally after running Forestprep and Domainprep it's
advisable to wait for the entire directory to update
before proceeding. We have about 12 DC's dotted about the
organisation some over WAN links so I want to be sure the
whole of AD is updated before I proceed.

How can I force a complete update/replication of AD
without waiting?

Many thanks.

DGC.

No idea how to force *immediate* inter-site replication,
but you can make sure that all connections are replicated
at the next replication interval using AD Sites &
Services.

Open the NTDS settings for each DC, and right-click on
each of the replication links therein. You can then
select "Replicate Now". Do this for all links.

As stated, this does not cause immediate replication of
inter-site connections, but it does make sure that
everything replicates at the next opportunity.

Good luck!

Barnski.

Hello DGC

Use the tool in Windows Support Tools called Replication Monitor.
