Unfortunately I decided to replace vista with xp again on this machine. I was
impressed at first, but I ran into many problems, mostly hardware and drivers
related. This computer was only half a machine-without good video tools,
printers, and incompatibility issues with updated xp software.

I was impressed with the file system. Features like these are needed, but
I'll wait for the next build.

I hope you filed bug reports on the issues you ran into. The idea behind
trying Vista is to have as many problems as you can so that MS can fix them.

HI, Colin,
Yes, I kept a manual log, and reported several issues. I also contacted
several hardware vendors and reported what I viewed as needing changes. I
would like to see Vista succeed, and will try again, but the issues in 5384
concerning hardware and support integration need serious addressing.

Well, that is the stated purpose of the Customer Preview Program given that
MS says that by "customers" they mean "developers, IT professionals, and
technology experts". After all it isn't a Consumer Preview Program or an
Early Adopter Program. Those come later this year.

You can't uninstall an OS. You have to replace it by reinstalling XP and
then use your backup program to restore your files.

As long as you take the recommended precautions you should be fine. But no
one should be using Vista as his primary computer OS unless he fits the
customer categories. It sounds like you are enjoying it.
