Forced to Refresh

Mike

I am having a problem with some web pages and I cannot
for the life of me figure this out. I originally thought
this problem could be resolved following the resolution
instructions for MS knowledge base #818506 (which told me
to install SP1 for IE6) but this did not work.

Here is the problem. Some web sites will not open at all
when I first try to load them, but if I hit the refresh
button on the browser, everything is fine. With other
pages, JS mouseovers do not appear but again, if I
refresh the page, they work fine. On my company's home
page for example, IE throws an error which
says 'HM_CurrentTree' is null or not an object. When I
try to login to some secure sites, the browser stalls
indefinitely while trying to load the page. In both
cases however, if I F5 or hit the refresh button, the
page loads fine.

Can someone please help me??

I have the same problem and I have downloaded and run ad-
aware 6.0 with no success. Any other suggestions?

I just made an upgrade from IE5.5 to IE6.0. Now I have a problem, that I. E.
is not working with any HTML tag:
e.g.<META http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;URL=/....">
Answer: I found it.
In the IE-Options->security, I had to allow "META REFRESH".

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

Microsoft's Scripting download
Get the latest. Two download versions are available for Windows Script 5.6.
The first version requires Windows 2000, XP; the second version requires
Microsoft Windows 98, Millenium Edition (Me), or NT 4.0.
Choose the download appropriate for your operating system.

IE 6. Rule out parasites.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.
